18 Wheeler Accidents June 2009As previously mentioned, discussing automobile safety requires consideration of potential accident scenarios. I will continue to discuss and highlight the number of rollovers, tire incidents, 18-wheeler accidents and all other types of accidents that happen throughout the nation.

Dallas, Texas 18-Wheeler Accident:

The Dallas County medical examiner’s office has identified the 52-year-old woman who died in a fiery multi-vehicle wreck on southbound Interstate 35 near the intersection of President George Bush Turnpike on Wednesday. Marilyn Coleman, 52, of Mesquite was in one of two vehicles parked on the shoulder of the interstate that were struck by a semi-tractor trailer just before 1 p.m. The semi cab detached from the trailer, hit a retaining wall and caught fire, according to Carrollton police investigators. “It burnt that cab to the ground — all that was left was the chassis,” said Officer Dustin Bartram, of the Carrollton Police Department. Coleman was taken via CareFlite to Parkland Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead about 1:30 p.m. The driver of the semi, Blaine Miller, 64, of Pennsylvania, was taken to Parkland with burns on 80 percent of his body and listed in critical condition Thursday afternoon, Bartram said.

If someone you know was injured or killed as the result of an 18-wheeler accident, immediately contact a competent attorney for advice. It is extremely important to do this quickly.
