Brazos County, Texas Rollover

One man died and one was injured Saturday evening in an accident in Brazos County in a suburb of College Station, according to the Department of Public Safety. Kasey Lynn Vanhoose, 22, was driving a Ford Ranger pickup at 7:15 p.m. on FM 2124 in Millican when law enforcement authorities say he became distracted and drove off of the roadway. He over-corrected, authorities say, and the pickup rolled over. Passenger Bradley David Abbe, 21, from Weatherford, Okla., died on the scene. Vanhoose, of Sunset, was injured. His condition was unknown Sunday morning.
The person believed to be responsible for Saturday night’s deadly accident on FM 2154 has been arrested. Kasey Lynn Vanhoose, 22, of Sunset, Texas has been charged with intoxication manslaughter. He remains in the Brazos County Jail on $50,000 bond. According to the Brazos County Department of Public Safety, Vanhoose and his friend Bradley Abbe, 21, of Idaho had left Chilifest and were headed north on FM 2154, when Vanhoose lost control of his pick-up truck near Henderson Road. The vehicle reportedly veered off the road and into a ditch. Vanhoose tried to over-correct, but the truck flipped and skidded across the roadway before hitting a tree. Abbe was thrown from the vehicle and died. Vanhoose was not injured. Authorities say Vanhoose was talking on his cell phone at the time of the crash, and was intoxicated. Neither of the two men were wearing seat belts.
