Just a short time after it was revealed that NHTSA had failed to produce alarming child safety seat crash test data, one child seat manufacturer has just issued a recall. RECARO is
recalling roughly 5400 of its Signo child seats.
Consumeraffairs.com described the reason for the recall by stating, “A defective spring could allow the central front adjuster strap to slip, keeping the harness from being securely tightened. In the event of a crash, a child might not be properly secured and could be injured or killed.” RECARO is planning on contacting owners and replacing the seats free of charge.
