Today, in my hometown of San Antonio, a tragic accident occurred when an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer rig failed to stop and rear-ended another vehicle. One man, Mr. Robert Post, died as a result of this accident. The San Antonio Express-News reported:

One man was killed Thursday afternoon near Loop 410 and Interstate 35 on the North East Side when an 18-wheeler rear-ended another vehicle while in traffic, according to the San Antonio Police Department traffic division. Robert Post, 57, was at a standstill in traffic when his vehicle was rear-ended. He was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center where he later died, according to the Medical Examiners Office. There were no other major injuries.

KSAT.com reported:
A man was killed Thursday afternoon when he was struck from behind by an 18-wheeler, police said. The 57-year-old driver, Robert Post, apparently braked because of a traffic slowdown on Loop 410 near Interstate 35 on the city’s northeast side when the driver of an 18-wheeler struck him from behind. The big rig driver told police he didn’t have time to stop, traffic investigators said. Police aren’t expected to file any charges against the driver of the 18-wheeler.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of this man. If someone you know was injured or killed as the result of an 18-wheeler accident, immediately contact a competent attorney for advice. It is extremely important to do this quickly.
